If you want to download pakage from Synaptic faster then just follow this simple steps.

Go to System->Administration->Synaptic Pakage Manager

Now enter your password and the Synaptic Pakage Manager will open.

Now click on Settings -> Repositories
In the Ubuntu Software tab go to Download from drop down menu and select Other

"Choose a Download Server" window will open so just click on Select Best Server

Now it will complete some tests to select the best server so be patient.
After the testing is over you will see the fastest server highlighted in the window which is available to you so to complete the procedure click on the Choose Server button.

Now in Synaptic Pakage Manager just click on Reload button and you are done.
